I’m Coach Riaz - your personal online running coach and a fully qualified UK Athletics coach.
How It All Started
My running journey began in 2000 when I signed up for the ultimate bucket-list event: the London Marathon. With no running experience, I trained as best I could, targeting a sub-4-hour finish. Training didn’t quite go to plan (injuries will do that!), but I still managed to drag myself around the streets of London and was instantly hooked by the buzz of running.
25 Years of Running
Fast-forward 25 years and I’m still running, faster, fitter, and stronger than ever. While I still love my own training, my true passion now lies in helping others achieve their running goals.

I deliver varied, high-quality training sessions designed to elevate your running, all built on a friendly, down-to-earth coach–athlete relationship. I won’t just hand you a plan and send you on your way. I'm there every step of the journey. I’ll celebrate your great runs and support you through the tougher days. I’m also pretty much always available on WhatsApp, whether you want to share a post-run high or have a moan when motivation dips.
As a UKA-qualified coach, I also place a strong emphasis on strength and neuromuscular conditioning. You’ll receive the key exercises and guidance you need to build strength effectively into your weekly routine.
Fully Online Coaching
All coaching is delivered online, meaning you can train with me from anywhere in the world. I work with runners of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced athletes chasing big performance goals.
If you’ve got a running goal, big or small, I’d love to help you achieve it.
All runs are planned via a sophisticated training app, which are then sent directly to your Garmin. I take all the stress out of planning and prep, so you can just go out and smash your sessions.
I will keep in touch with you via Whatsapp and video calls can always be scheduled in too.

Why get a running coach?
Generic online plans are limited. They don't take into account how you are feeling day to day, they don't adapt to your current or improving fitness level and they certainly don't provide you with any feedback, motivation or support.
As your coach I won't leave you with a plan to just get on with, but will be keeping in regular contact to enable a flexible approach to training. Maybe you've had a tough week at work, or your sleep patterns have been irregular, or family commitments are taking a strain, or you have picked up a niggling injury. I will be able to adapt your training on a weekly basis whilst more importantly being there for you as a source of encouragement and guidance.
Sometimes your training may need reigning in a little and other times you may need a push to get those running trainers on and tick another session off. As a coach, my job is to help you find that balance so you can train consistently and make progress for the long term. Strength training will also be a key part of your schedule. So we will build this in to help you become a stronger runner. As a runner, having someone to call upon for advice, to motivate you or simply to share the fact that you've just come back from a great run is part of the process. I'll be with you every step of the way!
Planning and setting up your runs on your smart watch can be time consuming during your busy week. My job is to take all the stress away, by giving you detailed plans sent straight to your sports watch so you can focus on going out there and getting the runs ticked off! No more struggling to set up intervals before a run.
